We offer a suite of programmes within the field of International Law, enabling you to tailor your degree depending on your own individual interests and career aspirations.

LLM International Law

This LLM will give you an advanced knowledge of general public and private international law, both of which are vital subjects for pursuing a career in the legal profession.  The programme will enable you to undertake advanced legal research and writing while focusing on international treaties and case law.

LLM Public International Law

Our Public International Law programme covers a range of courses that explore international contemporary issues. It analyses topics such as International Law’s role in the international trade arena, preventing international terrorism, or the protection of human rights, and is designed for candidates who seek the qualification of a general public international lawyer but with a range of specialist interests.

LLM International Law and International Relations

This is an interdisciplinary programme taught in conjunction with the School of Social Sciences.  You will gain an advanced understanding of International Law and International Relations and a unique perspective on a range of contemporary issues related to the transformed nature of global governance.

LLM International Law, Security and Strategic Studies

Delivered jointly with the School of Social Sciences, this interdisciplinary degree explores the use of force by international and transnational actors to achieve political and security objectives. You will have the opportunity to develop critical thinking and analytical skills through a range of exciting courses including International Law: A Time of Challenges, International Human Rights Law, Global Security Issues and International Energy Security.
